Caries Risiko

Before you take part in one of the analyses, there are some important basic rules:

1. You must not have any signs of an infectious disease such as increased temperature, cough, vomiting or diarrhoea. This is an indispensable condition. If this is the case, we cannot perform a sample collection.
2. Avoid drinking alcoholic or acidic beverages (e.g. beer, wine, Coca-Cola, orange juice) or food for at least 1 hour before the sample collection.
3. Refrain from any oral hygiene, including tooth brushing and the use of disinfectant or fluoride mouthwashes, for at least 1 hour prior to sample collection.

If points 2-3 are not adhered to, the sample collection can be done but the validity of the results could fluctuate. To increase the accuracy of the results, it is advisable to follow the same conditions for the second sample collection as for the first. For example, if you take the sample immediately after brushing your teeth the first time, you should do the same the second time.
