Surface-Targeted Action

Enhanced Safety Profile: Roughness

Another study measured both the roughness and surface hardness of tooth samples after they were treated with bleaching products.

Roughness: On average, all 4 test groups showed a slight increase in roughness. A statistically significant increase compared to the untreated surface was found for a product with 40% H2O2, which also differed significantly from AW Whitening Technology and a product with 6% H2O2.

Enhanced Safety Profile: Surface Hardness

Another study measured both the roughness and surface hardness of tooth samples after they were treated with bleaching products.

Surface hardness: Compared to intact enamel, a statistically significant decrease in hardness was measured at 250 nm after treatment with a product containing 40% H2O2, which decreases with increasing measurement depth, i.e. the effect of the bleaching product is greater near the surface. All other tested products – including AW Whitening Technology – show negligible changes in surface microhardness with respect to the standard deviation, i.e. the surface was not affected by the whitening process.

Simple, Safe, and Effective

The simple treatment protocol can be performed by dental practice staff.

At the beginning, the reference shade of the teeth is evaluated together with the patient.

The gingiva is protected with cotton rolls and a gingival barrier.

One jar of gel is opened per application cycle.

The AW Whitening activator is added to the gel.

The two components are mixed.

The gel is applied to the teeth.

The gel is left on the tooth surfaces during the application period.

The gel can be aspirated precisely after the application cycle using a surgtip.

After repeating steps 4-9, the entire oral cavity is then cleaned with water.

Finally, the gingival barrier and the cotton rolls are removed.

After treatment, the mouth can be rinsed with water and a little can be drunk.

The reference shade is determined again. The result of the AW Whitening treatment is naturally brighter tooth shades.
